Get to Know the Designer
Owner and designer of Reign & Rowan, Celia has always had a passion for film, theatre, but specifically, costumes and props. Being a bit of a nerd, she first discovered the need for commissions for the cosplay and comic book community. A cosplayer herself for over 15 years, she has honed her craft through first sewing for herself and then later on for others.
Her goal is to advance her knowledge everyday; while relocating to Orlando to pursue her dreams of costume technology and grow with larger companies. Her love of creating clothing and determination for knowledge is unwavering. As an entrepreneur, her desire fueled her idea to open her Etsy store and to share her love of creating wearable art around the world through commisions. Celia has a fire and energy to make a pathway for others to follow their dreams in the Arts.
When she is not working on her business, or sewing at school, Celia loves to spend time with her friends and family, volunteering at church, and hiking with her Cocker Spaniel, Sophie. She also adores attending cosplay conventions, filming short films, playing video games, and enjoy wiping up new recipes in the kitchen.
"Creativity is a force stronger than reality. It has to go beyond the seen to fathom something tangible, and for me, wearable. Costumes are not just an extension of character, I believe they are the very place where the character's strength and personality resides. They are living and breathing artistic artifacts, and if one looks closely, they can see the foundation of imagination in every piece, long before the actor steps into it."
